BitDefender Internet Security v10 este furnizat cu un CD de boot (bazat pe LinuxDefender) capabil să scaneze şi dezinfecteze tot calculatorul fără a mai fi necesară pornirea sistemului de operare.
Este indicat să utilizaţi BitDefender Rescue CD oricând sistemul dumneavoastră de operare nu funcţionează corect din cauza infecţiei cu viruşi. Aceasta se întâmplă în general când nu folosiţi un produs antivirus.
Actualizarea definiţiilor de viruşi se face automat, fără intervenţia utilizatorului de fiecare dată când este pornit BitDefender Rescue CD.
LinuxDefender este o distribuţie Knoppix aplicată BitDefender, care integrează cea mai nouă soluţie de securitate BitDefender pentru Linux într-un CD GNU/Linux Knoppix Live, oferind o protecţie antivirus/antispam a traficului SMTP instantanee şi un antivirus pentru desktop care este capabil să scaneze şi să dezinfecteze hard discurile existente (incluzând partiţiile Windows NTFS) sau partiţii Samba/Windows remote de tip share. inainte de a porni LinuxDefender, trebuie să vă asiguraţi că sistemul dumneavoastră îndeplineşte următoarele cerinţe.
Tip procesor
Procesor compatibil cu x86, minimum 166 MHz, dar nu aşteptaţi performanţe ridicate în acest caz. Un procesor de generaţie i686, la 800MHz, constituie o alegere mai bună.
Memorie RAM
Valoarea minimă acceptată este de 64MB, iar valoarea recomandată este de 128MB, pentru o performanţă crescută.
CD-ROM
LinuxDefender rulează de pe un CD-ROM, de aceea sunt necesare un CD-ROM şi un BIOS capabil să-l pornească.
Conexiune Internet
Deşi LinuxDefender va rula fără conexiune Internet, procedurile de actualizare vor necesita un link HTTP activ, chiar şi printr-un server proxy. De aceea, pentru o protecţie actualizată, conexiunea Internet este o CERINŢĂ.
Rezoluţie grafică
Este recomandată o rezoluţie de cel puţin 800x600 pentru o administrare bazată pe web.

This ESET SysRescue CD (ESR) was created with ESET Smart Security Business Edition. The main advantage of ESET SysRescue is the fact that it runs independent of the host operating system, while it has a direct access to the disk and the entire filesystem. Thanks to this it is possible to remove those infiltrations that normally could not be deleted, e.g. when the operating system is running, etc. Scanning speed is pretty fast compared to other rescue disks. The scan is very thorough as it tries to scan files inside compressed archive and also in setup installers. With the latest virus signature database (5072, it manages to catch all of known viruses by 2010-08-21. For the rescue CD to use effectively, you must provide that the computer boots from the ESET SysRescue boot media. Boot priority can be modified in the BIOS. Alternatively, you can invoke the boot menu during the computer startup - usually using one of the F9 - F12 keys depending on the version of your motherboard/BIOS.
